Creamy Broccoli Penne Pasta

Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water. 
  • Add broccoli florets for the last 3-4 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add heavy cream to the skillet and simmer gently.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Add pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Stir well, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Garnish with basil or parsley if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
