Creamy Broccoli Penne Pasta

Ingredients
12 oz penne pasta
2 cups fresh broccoli florets
2 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Cook pasta in salted boiling water.
- Add broccoli florets for the last 3-4 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add heavy cream to the skillet and simmer gently.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Stir well, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Garnish with basil or parsley if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
